What We Stand For

Our Mission

Temple Student Government is a group of established Temple students who are determined to lead Temple on the path of progress at home, in our community, and in our city. We have created a platform and a mission that is supported by three pillars. These pillars are the values that we will ground ourselves in to have a clear and focused vision of the future.

Reform What Exists

Access to Sexual Assault Resources

Continue to work with Women Organized Against Rape

Hold a firm stance against sexual assault and domestic violence

Executive Branch

Establish an Ethics Board

• Reinstate General Assembly Committees

• Advocate for a permanent voting seat on the Board of Trustees

• Create a Director of Student Health and Wellbeing within Temple Student Government


• Improve communication between the Executive branch and Parliament.

• Designate a Communications Director to the Parliament

• Increase accessibility to Parliament

Student Life

Work with Computer Services to improve Wi-Fi throughout Campus

• Support efforts that address food insecurity

• Collaborate with the LGBTQIA+ community on Temple University’s campus

Campus Safety

• Improve the consistency, promptness, and rhetoric of the TUAlert System

• Expand the Walking Escort Service

Engage All Voices

Student Body

Maintain Active collaboration with student organizations on programs and events

Initiate live feedback forums with Temple University Executives to promote transparency

Expand resources for first generation, international, immigrant and other incoming students through the development of a mentorship program

Disability Resource Services

• Continue to support and expand the ADA Task Force

• Initiate a campaign to promote inclusion of different abilities on campus

Philadelphia High School Students

Advocate for the reinstatement of the Summer Bridge Program

Continue to engage young minds in the community through access and exposure to Temple University

The environment

Promote sustainable initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability

Collaborate with Philadelphia’s “Zero Waste and Litter Cabinet” implemented to address pollution and littering on and off campus

Activate Relationships

Respect for the Community

Design additional STARS incentives for organizations to host events that will include the community

Increase frequency of community forums

Engage the student body with the community by:

  1. Revamping Adopt-a-Block and the Good Neighbor Initiative
  2.  Implementing “Community Days”
  3. Creating an “Alternative Spring Break” option, which aims to
    • Promote experiential learning to combat stigma with regards to North Philadelphia
    • Encourage civic engagement between students and the North Philadelphia community
  4.  Opposing any plans for a stadium that negatively impacts the community

Acknowledge and support student organizations in their efforts to better our community

Work with TAs and Faculty

Further develop training for TAs and faculty in diversity and inclusion

Continue relations with faculty members and the student body
